Learning Quran Online in the USA

Noorani Qaida in Four Levels
From single letters to reading the mushaf. Most children finish in three to six months.
Joining Letters & Short Vowels
Letters joined into words, then the three short vowels — Fatha (ـَ), Kasra (ـِ) and Damma (ـُ) — and tanween.
This is the stage where it stops being letters and starts being reading.
Long Sounds & Special Rules
The madd letters Alif (ا), Waw (و) and Ya (ي) that stretch a sound, plus sukun (ـْ) and shaddah (ـّ).
Words begin to sound the way they are meant to, held for the right length.
Reading Practice — Advanced
Every rule at once, plus noon sakinah and tanween, and then real ayahs instead of exercises.

The first five minutes — revision
The teacher hears yesterday's page again. Not to test your child, but because a mistake left uncorrected for a week becomes a habit that takes a month to undo.
The middle twenty — new work
New letters, a new rule, or the next portion of Hifz. Your child reads aloud and the teacher corrects as they go, in the moment, rather than at the end.
The last five — setting the practice
The teacher marks exactly what to practise before the next class and how many times. Short, specific, and small enough that it actually gets done.

There is no lecture and no group waiting their turn. In a one-to-one lesson your child is reciting for most of the thirty minutes, which is the only part of a Quran class that actually builds reading.

Do you cover all US time zones for online Quran classes?
Yes. We schedule across Eastern, Central, Mountain and Pacific every weekday, and cover Alaska and Hawaii by arrangement. Weekday slots run from about 3:00pm local time until after Isha, with weekend mornings also available. You pick the times when you register and can change them later.
How much do online Quran classes cost in the USA?
Fees are billed in US dollars and start at $39 a month for two 30-minute classes a week, rising to $59 a month for five classes a week. There is no registration fee and no charge for the trial classes. Prices are shown in full on the page — nothing is quoted only after you enquire.
Is this better than our local weekend Islamic school?
It is different rather than better, and many of our American families do both. A weekend school gives your child a community of Muslim friends, which matters. What it usually cannot give is individual correction: one teacher with twenty children cannot listen to each one recite for long. Our classes are one-to-one, so every lesson is thirty minutes of your child reciting and being corrected.
Can my child have a female Quran teacher?
Yes. You choose male or female when you register, at no difference in fee, and you can request a change later if the match is not right. Many American families choose a female teacher for daughters and for younger children of either gender.
What do we need to join the class?
A laptop, tablet or phone with a working microphone, and an internet connection. Classes run on Google Meet or Zoom. A webcam is optional — plenty of our students keep the camera off and only share the page they are reading. Nothing has to be installed or bought.
Are the free trial classes really free?
Yes. You get up to three trial classes with a qualified teacher, with no card details taken and no obligation to continue. The teacher assesses your child's level, tells you honestly where they are, and proposes a plan. If you decide not to go ahead, that is the end of it.
My child was born here and only speaks English. Is that a problem?
No, and it is the most common situation we teach. Our teachers are fluent in English and teach Arabic reading through English throughout. Your child does not need to understand Arabic to start — understanding comes later, through the Translation and Tafseer courses.
