Who are Quran translation classes for?
Quran translation classes are for a child who already recites the Quran in Arabic and is ready to understand what the Arabic words mean. A child still working on the individual letters, or on pronouncing them correctly, is not ready for translation yet. The academy has taught children online since 2019, and the families we teach live mainly in the UK, the USA, Canada, Australia and Europe.
Translation sits late on our course path. A beginner starts on the Noorani Qaida, moves on to Quran recitation with Tajweed, and only then takes up translation. Tell us on WhatsApp how far your child's recitation has reached, and we place them with a teacher at exactly that level.

What does it mean to learn Quran with translation?
To learn Quran with translation is to learn the meaning of the Quranic Arabic your child already recites. It is taught in English or in Urdu, whichever your child follows more easily. Your child recites the verse from the Quran on the teacher's shared screen, and the teacher then gives the translation. The recitation is not dropped to make room for the translation. It is added on top, so recitation and meaning are heard together in every class.
Tafseer, the explanation of the verses and their background, is a separate course. A child who knows what a verse says is reciting something they understand, not a memorized sound copied from the teacher. That understanding is the whole aim of the translation course.
How do the translation classes work?
Every translation class puts your child alone with one teacher on a live video call. There is no group, and no recording is played in place of a live lesson.
- The teacher shares the screen and opens the Quran from our online library. Your child recites the Arabic from the page, and the teacher gives the translation alongside the recitation.
- Your child keeps the same teacher, in the same slot every week.
- One Google Meet link, given to you once with its meeting code. Every class runs on it, and it stays the same if the schedule changes.
- Class times are given in your own time zone and can be changed afterwards. Our teachers work at all hours, which covers most time zones.
- A supervisor listens in on every class.
Can my child have a longer translation class?
Yes. Translation is one of the courses we also teach in 45-minute and 1-hour sessions, alongside the standard 30 minutes. You choose one length, and every class runs at that length.

Who teaches the translation classes?
The translation classes are taught by a qualified teacher who stays with your child from the beginning of the course to the end. Every teacher holds a qualification from a recognized Islamic institution. The academy has both male and female teachers.
Arabic is not our teachers' first language. They are trained in Quranic Arabic, which is exactly what your child recites in class. The translation itself is given in your child's own language. Nobody replaces your child's teacher without asking you first.
How do I know what my child is learning?
You know from the note the teacher writes after every class, and you are welcome to sit in on any translation lesson whenever you like. The note reaches you in your family WhatsApp group, which we open once the trial classes are agreed. It is written in plain English and holds 3 things.
- What was covered in the class.
- What to practise before the next one.
- A direct link to the exact book and page in our library.
The same group is where you ask for anything to change, and we try to settle it before the next class. This is what you can ask for.
- A different teacher. Ask, and another is arranged. The new teacher is told exactly where your child has reached and how they were taught, so the translation continues from the same page.
- A class moved to later the same day: tell us at least 2 to 3 hours before it. A class moved to another day: tell us at least 1 hour before.
- Up to 3 moves a month for a child on weekdays, and up to 2 for a child on weekends.
- A change to how or how long your child is taught, including the class length.
- To stop. There is no contract and no minimum term, so you can end the classes in any month by telling us.
If a move was not asked for in time, the teacher waits about 5 minutes for your child, then logs out.
How do I book a free trial translation class?
Put your WhatsApp number and your country in the form, and we message you back on WhatsApp. We promise a reply within 24 hours, and hours is the norm. Before the first translation class we ask a few things about your child.
- Your child's name, age and gender.
- Whether they are a beginner or have learned before, and how far their recitation has reached.
- The time and time zone that suit you, and how many days a week.
- When you would like to start.
A trial can begin within an hour or two of your reply, and a trial the same evening is normal. You get up to 3 free classes, with no credit card and no registration fee. We use your number to set up the trial and for nothing else. If you would rather not go on afterwards, nothing was signed, so there is nothing to cancel.

What is the difference between Quran translation and Tafseer?
Translation is what the Arabic words mean. Tafseer is what the verse means. Both are taught so your child knows what they are reciting.
Which language is the translation in?
English or Urdu, whichever your child follows more easily. Tell us and we arrange it.
Does my child need to read the Quran well first?
Reading comes first. Understanding is added on top of the recitation, not instead of it.
What happens if my child misses a translation class?
If the teacher or the academy cancels, or the class is disturbed from the teacher's side, you get a make-up class. If your child logs in late without telling us, and the teacher waited, that class is not made up. Public holidays and Eid are included in the monthly fee and are not made up either.
How do we pay the monthly fee?
By card through Stripe, debit or credit, Visa or Mastercard, or by bank transfer through Wise. If neither works where you live, email us and we arrange another way.
What makes your online Quran academy different?
Your child keeps the same qualified teacher every week, at the same time. Every class is one-to-one. After each class the teacher writes a note: what was covered and what to practise.
Are these live Quran classes or recorded lessons?
Live, always. Every class is a live lesson on video with your child's teacher. We never send recordings in place of live lessons.
What will my child learn in online Quran classes?
Beginners start with the Noorani Qaida. From there it is Quran recitation with Tajweed, and after that Hifz, translation or Tafseer, depending on what a family wants. Alongside the Quran your child learns Islamic Studies. Families on 5 days a week keep Friday as Islamic Day, which revises that week's Islamic Studies and adds one new lesson.
Are your online Quran teachers qualified?
Yes, and it is checked before anyone teaches a child. Every teacher holds a qualification from a recognized Islamic institution, and several hold professional degrees as well. Nobody is given a student on an application alone. There is an interview, a document check, training, and a live demo class we sit in on. The academy page sets out each stage.
Who is watching my child's Quran class?
A supervisor. She joins the link about 2 minutes before the teacher and your child, checks that both are online, and listens in as the lesson runs. She is not there to teach: she is there to make sure the class is a good one. If the sound fails, or the teacher is not listening closely enough to your child, she steps in. Every class is supervised, and all our supervisors are female.
How do I schedule my child's Quran class?
Send us your WhatsApp number on the form, or message us on WhatsApp. We ask for your child's age and the times that suit you. A supervisor places your child with a teacher in a slot at that time, in your time zone. We reply on WhatsApp within 24 hours, and usually within hours.
Can we try the online Quran classes before enrolling?
Yes. Take up to 3 free trial classes first. Use them to check the teacher, the timing, and how your child responds before paying anything.
Can parents sit in on the Quran class?
Yes. You are welcome to watch any lesson, without asking first.
What am I committing to, and what if we want to stop?
There is no contract and no minimum term. Fees are monthly, and you pay for the month ahead. If you want to stop, tell us and we will stop. If you need a break instead, any unused balance carries to the next month. Before your regular classes begin, you can withdraw and get a full refund.
How do we stay in touch once classes start?
Through a WhatsApp group we open for your family after the trial classes. It has 4 people in it: you, your child's supervisor, the coordinator and the academy manager. Use it to move a class, ask for a different teacher, or raise anything at all. We try to settle it before the next class.
What do you do with my WhatsApp number?
Arranging your trial class is the only thing we use it for, and we never pass it on to anybody. Once classes start it is the number in your family WhatsApp group.
Is my child safe in an online Quran class?
You are welcome to watch any lesson yourself, without asking first, and a supervisor is listening in on every class. No teacher is given a student until we have checked their certificates and references. We then train them in how we teach, and sit in on a live demo class before they start.
How much do online Quran classes for kids cost?
Live Quran Lessons charges monthly, per child, by the days a week your child attends. 2 days a week is $39, 3 days $49, 4 days $59, and 5 days $65. Each lesson is 30 minutes, 1-to-1.
