1. What we collect, and why
1.1 You can visit our website without giving us any personal data. We may collect anonymous data to run and improve our online classes.
1.2 When you register to contact us or to take classes, you must give us certain details. We collect and process them only as much as we need to provide our services. We do not access or use any other information without your consent.
1.3 To provide our services, we may collect, process and use the following personal data:
- Your email address, phone number, country, city and time zone, and the name and age of each student you register with us.
- How you use our website, services and content. Details of your device and internet connection, including your IP address. Page views, server logs and traffic data.
- Any details we ask for so we can confirm who you are.
- Payment card information is never stored on our website or servers. Payments are handled by our payment facilitator, so your financial data goes directly to their secure servers.
1.4 Communication data generated by using our website, including textual data, connection details and connection times, is collected and used to administer classes and billing.
1.5 When you give us personal data to help us find and fix a technical problem, we may also collect, process and use it.
2. Sharing and keeping your data
2.1 We may use outside companies to help with orders, billing and scheduling. Our agreements with them make sure personal data is used and handled properly. You may withdraw your consent to this at any time, in writing or by email. We will then remove your personal data from our servers and theirs within a reasonable time.
2.2 We share limited personal data, such as the student's name, with the teacher who takes your online classes. Teachers are not permitted to request any personal or financial information from students, and students must not share personal or financial information with teachers.
2.3 Your data is retained so that your learning records remain available if you resume classes later. You can email us at any time to have all of your data deleted permanently.
3. About cookies
3.1 Some parts of this website only work if we collect, process and use data that comes from you or from your device.
3.2 Cookies are small pieces of data used to provide customised services by recognising individual visitors and their usage patterns. You can disable cookies in your browser at any time.
4. Analytics and advertising
4.1 We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our website. Cookies placed on your device may be accessed by that service, and identifiers created by our website may be used to analyse usage.
4.2 Information retrieved by these cookies is transmitted to and stored on Google's servers. Your IP address is truncated wherever the service supports it.
4.3 Google uses this information on our behalf. It analyses how you use the website, reports on website activity, and provides other services linked to website activity and internet use.
4.4 We also advertise our classes with Google Ads. Its tag tells us which ad brought an enquiry, so we know which ads are worth running.
4.5 Google Ads has a setting called enhanced conversions, and it is switched on for our account. While it is on, the Google Ads tag can send Google the email address or phone number you give us. It is sent in hashed form, a scrambled code that cannot be turned back into your details. That is how we know which ad your enquiry came from.
4.6 Google explains how it uses data from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, and its own privacy policy is at policies.google.com/privacy. You can switch off Google Analytics in your browser with Google's opt-out add-on: tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
4.7 We use Microsoft Clarity to see how visitors move around our website. It records which pages were opened, where a visitor scrolled and tapped, and how long a page was open, and it plays that back to us as a recording of the screen that never shows your name. It places a cookie on your device so that the pages you open in one visit are seen as one visit. We use it to find the parts of the site that are confusing, so we can fix them.
4.8 The recording does not capture what you type. Microsoft hides the contents of every input box and every drop-down on every website that uses Clarity, and that cannot be switched off, so your name, your email address, your phone number and your country are never recorded. The message box on our contact and registration forms is marked to be hidden as well, so anything you write about your child is not recorded either.
4.9 Microsoft explains how it uses this information in its privacy statement at privacy.microsoft.com/privacystatement. If you would rather not be recorded, Clarity follows the Global Privacy Control setting your browser may offer, and you can opt out of Microsoft's analytics entirely at optout.aboutads.info.
5. Other users' data
5.1 You must not add or store another user's personal data unless they agree and you have told us.
6. Newsletter
6.1 If you subscribe, our newsletter goes to the email address you gave us. Each newsletter has a link to stop it, free of charge, whenever you like.
7. Data security
We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure or destruction. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, but we take all reasonable steps to protect the information you give us.
