What is the Hifz course?
Hifz is the Arabic word for Quran memorization, and a person who has memorized all of it is called a Hafiz. Our online Hifz program is for children who already read the Quran from the page. Your family sets the goal: a selection of surahs, Juz Amma (the 30th para) or the whole Quran.
Every class is live on video, with one teacher and one child. Your child recites yesterday's portion, revises the older portions, and is then given the next portion to memorize. The teacher corrects Tajweed as your child recites.
Live Quran Lessons has taught children online since 2019, for families in the UK, the USA, Canada, Australia and Europe. Every Hifz teacher holds a qualification from a recognized Islamic institution, and both male and female teachers teach Hifz.

How is Quran memorization taught in every class?
In a fixed order: yesterday's portion is recited first, the older portions are revised, and only then is tomorrow's portion set.
Yesterday's portion first
Your child recites from memory the portion set the previous day. Nothing new is opened until this recitation is done.
Revision of the older portions
Everything memorized earlier is revised again in turn, so the older portions are recited regularly and not forgotten.
The next portion is set
The teacher sets the new portion for tomorrow. Its size is chosen for your child individually, not taken from a fixed daily amount.
How much of the Quran will my child memorize?
As much as your family decides. Tell us when you book, and you can change your mind afterwards.

There is no fixed course length for Hifz, and we will not promise you one. What decides it is how much your child sets out to memorize, and the size of the daily portion they can carry in memory. The order above stays the same whichever you choose.
What does my child need before beginning Hifz?
Quran recitation from the page, and the last short surahs already memorized. On our beginner path those come at stages 2 and 3, and Hifz is stage 5.

If your child has already completed the first 4 stages elsewhere, say so on WhatsApp when you register. If your child is not there yet, recitation classes come first and Hifz follows them. We would rather tell you that honestly than take a Hifz fee for a child who cannot yet read the page. The free trial classes show us, and you, exactly where your child stands.
How do online Hifz classes work?
Live on Google Meet, 1-to-1, with the teacher sharing the Quran from our online library on screen so your child reads the same page.
- The same teacher every week, at the time you agreed with us.
- Every class runs on one Google Meet link. You receive it once, with the meeting code, in your family WhatsApp group, and it stays the same when the schedule changes.
- A supervisor listens in on every class. All our supervisors are female.
- You can watch any lesson whenever you want, without asking anybody first.
- Class times are given in your own time zone, and a time can be changed afterwards.
- If your child is late, the teacher stays on the link for about 5 minutes and then logs out.
- Nothing to install. Meet opens in the browser on a laptop, tablet or phone with a camera.
You want a different teacher
Say so in your family WhatsApp group and another teacher is arranged. Nobody on our side changes your child's teacher without your permission.
You need to move a class
Tell us in your family WhatsApp group before the class starts. To move it later the same day, give 2 to 3 hours' notice. To move it to another day, give 1 hour. A weekday student can move up to 3 classes a month, and a weekend student up to 2.

Which Hifz class: 45 minutes or 1 hour?
Every Hifz student has 5 classes a week, 20 a month, with the same teacher. You choose how long each class is, and the fee follows the length.

How do the Hifz fee and free trial work?
How is the Hifz fee calculated?
By lesson length. Hifz has one monthly rate for the 45-minute class and a higher one for the full hour, both at 5 days a week. Hifz is priced separately from the other courses, and the goal your family chooses does not change the fee. Every fee is per child, and both prices are on the plans just above, in your own currency.
- Pay by card through Stripe (Visa or Mastercard, debit or credit), or by bank transfer through Wise.
- If neither works where you live, email us and we arrange another way.
- A family on a low income can ask for a 10% discount.
- Public holidays and Eid are included in the monthly fee, and those days are not made up.
- Fees are paid monthly in advance, from the month regular classes begin.
- No contract and no minimum term. You can stop in any month by telling us in your family WhatsApp group.
How do I book a free Hifz trial class?
- Fill in the short form on this page: your country and your WhatsApp number.
- We message you back on WhatsApp and ask about your child: name, age and gender, and whether they have studied before.
- We also ask for the time and time zone that suit you, and when you want to begin.
- The trial can begin within an hour or two of your reply.

What makes your online Quran academy different?
Your child keeps the same qualified teacher every week, at the same time. Every class is one-to-one. After each class the teacher writes a note: what was covered and what to practise.
Are these live Quran classes or recorded lessons?
Live, always. Every class is a live lesson on video with your child's teacher. We never send recordings in place of live lessons.
What will my child learn in online Quran classes?
Beginners start with the Noorani Qaida. From there it is Quran recitation with Tajweed, and after that Hifz, translation or Tafseer, depending on what a family wants. Alongside the Quran your child learns Islamic Studies. Families on 5 days a week keep Friday as Islamic Day, which revises that week's Islamic Studies and adds one new lesson.
Are your online Quran teachers qualified?
Yes, and it is checked before anyone teaches a child. Every teacher holds a qualification from a recognized Islamic institution, and several hold professional degrees as well. Nobody is given a student on an application alone. There is an interview, a document check, training, and a live demo class we sit in on. The academy page sets out each stage.
Who is watching my child's Quran class?
A supervisor. She joins the link about 2 minutes before the teacher and your child, checks that both are online, and listens in as the lesson runs. She is not there to teach: she is there to make sure the class is a good one. If the sound fails, or the teacher is not listening closely enough to your child, she steps in. Every class is supervised, and all our supervisors are female.
How do I schedule my child's Quran class?
Send us your WhatsApp number on the form, or message us on WhatsApp. We ask for your child's age and the times that suit you. A supervisor places your child with a teacher in a slot at that time, in your time zone. We reply on WhatsApp within 24 hours, and usually within hours.
Can we try the online Quran classes before enrolling?
Yes. Take up to 3 free trial classes first. Use them to check the teacher, the timing, and how your child responds before paying anything.
Can parents sit in on the Quran class?
Yes. You are welcome to watch any lesson, without asking first.
What am I committing to, and what if we want to stop?
There is no contract and no minimum term. Fees are monthly, and you pay for the month ahead. If you want to stop, tell us and we will stop. If you need a break instead, any unused balance carries to the next month. Before your regular classes begin, you can withdraw and get a full refund.
How do we stay in touch once classes start?
Through a WhatsApp group we open for your family after the trial classes. It has 4 people in it: you, your child's supervisor, the coordinator and the academy manager. Use it to move a class, ask for a different teacher, or raise anything at all. We try to settle it before the next class.
What do you do with my WhatsApp number?
Arranging your trial class is the only thing we use it for, and we never pass it on to anybody. Once classes start it is the number in your family WhatsApp group.
Is my child safe in an online Quran class?
You are welcome to watch any lesson yourself, without asking first, and a supervisor is listening in on every class. No teacher is given a student until we have checked their certificates and references. We then train them in how we teach, and sit in on a live demo class before they start.
How much do online Hifz classes for kids cost?
Live Quran Lessons charges Hifz monthly, per child. A 45-minute class 5 days a week is $90 a month, and a full hour is $118.
