Teachers based in Pakistan make one-to-one daily lessons affordable for families in the UK, US and Canada, where the same hours with a local teacher would cost several times more. The real trade-off is not quality -- it is time zones, and it is worth knowing before you book.
What it actually buys you
- One to one, several times a week
- The arithmetic is the whole point. At local rates in London or Toronto, one-to-one Quran lessons four times a week are out of reach for most families. This is how a child gets individual attention rather than a place in a group of twenty.
- Teachers who do this full time
- Not a volunteer after work. The people teaching your child teach children all day and have done for years.
- Qaida and Tajweed as a trained discipline
- Teaching the Qaida properly is a specific skill, taught and examined in Pakistan in a way it often is not elsewhere.
The honest trade-offs
Time zones
Pakistan is four to five hours ahead of the UK and nine to thirteen ahead of North America. A four o'clock lesson in New York is one in the morning in Lahore. We will tell you that before you book rather than after, and we will suggest a morning slot instead.
Accent and language
Our teachers speak English, and the Arabic they teach is standard recitation. But a child used to one accent takes a few lessons to settle, and that is normal rather than a problem.
Nobody is in the room
A teacher online cannot see that a child has had an awful day at school unless somebody says so. This is why a supervisor sits on every lesson and why we ask parents to tell us.
Trust at a distance
You are putting your child on a video call with someone you have never met. That deserves more than a promise, which is why the link never changes and you can join any lesson unannounced.
What we do about the distance
- A supervisor is on every class, and all our supervisors are women.
- One Google Meet link that never changes, so you can drop into any lesson without arranging it first.
- The same teacher every week, so somebody actually knows your child.
- You can ask for a different teacher without giving a reason.
- We write to you before each clock change rather than after it.
