Online Hifz for children usually means a live one-to-one lesson most weekdays, forty-five minutes or an hour, with the teacher hearing new memorisation and revision. Between lessons the child repeats the new portion at home. The daily rhythm matters more than lesson length.
Why Hifz needs more days than recitation
A child learning to read can do well with two or three lessons a week. Memorisation is different. Each new portion has to be heard by a teacher and revised within a day or two, or it starts to fade. That is why Hifz students usually have lessons five days a week.

What happens in the lesson
The teacher hears the new portion from the previous day, then recent revision, then a block of older revision. Mistakes are corrected on the spot. The lesson ends with the next new portion read correctly together, so the child goes away knowing exactly what to memorise tonight.
Online works well for this because the lesson is one to one. Nobody waits for a turn, and the teacher hears every line the child recites.
What the child does at home
- Repeat the new portion in two or three short sittings rather than one long one.
- Recite it once to a parent before bed, even if the parent is only listening.
- Recite it once more in the morning before the lesson.
- Keep the same printed Quran by the practice spot.
How parents can help
The single biggest help is protecting the routine. A fixed time each day, the same quiet place, and not letting a busy evening wipe out practice. Parents do not need to correct the recitation — the teacher does that — but a parent who listens every day keeps a child accountable.
Every class runs on one Google Meet link, and a supervisor is present in every lesson. Parents can open the link at any time and listen in.
