The time difference, answered plainly
America is nine to twelve hours behind Pakistan, so an after-school lesson on the East Coast falls in the small hours for the teacher. That is not a problem we pass to you: our teachers work through the night precisely so an American child can be taught at four in the afternoon.
Eastern, Central, Mountain and Pacific are all covered: four in the afternoon in New York is one o'clock in California, and a teacher who has stayed up for one has stayed up for both. Weekend mornings are usually the easiest slots to get, and they suit families who would rather not add anything to a school night.
Whatever slot you take, it stays the same every week, with the same teacher and one Google Meet link that never changes.
Your slot, in your time and ours
Pakistan is nine to thirteen hours ahead of the United States, depending on your coast and the season. That is the single most important fact about booking these lessons, and most academies will not put it in writing.

Add an hour to every Pakistani time above once the US clocks go back in November. Central and Mountain sit between the two coasts.
The half hour before school
A thirty-minute lesson at half past six in the morning sounds like a hard sell until you look at what it replaces: a lesson at four in the afternoon, when your child has already done six hours of school, and a teacher in Pakistan who is doing it at one in the morning.
- The child is fresh. Quran reading at 6:30am goes in faster than at 4pm, and every teacher here will tell you the same.
- The teacher is at their best, not at the end of a long night.
- Nothing else is competing for the slot -- no practice, no homework, no younger sibling.
- Thirty minutes, so the school run is not affected.
- It is not for every family, and we will not push it. Try one trial class at that hour and decide.
What happens when the clocks change
The United States puts its clocks forward on the second Sunday in March and back on the first Sunday in November. Pakistan has never changed its clocks at all.
So twice a year your child's lesson would quietly move by an hour if nobody did anything about it. Plenty of families only notice when the teacher is waiting and the child is still at school.
- We write to you before each clock change, not after it.
- Your slot stays at the same local time for you -- we move it at our end.
- If the new time does not work, you tell us and we find another one. No form, no notice period.
- The Google Meet link does not change. It never changes.

Nothing is charged during the free trial classes, and no card is asked for at signup.
Do the sum before comparing us with anyone: divide the monthly fee by the lessons in it. The $39 plan is eight lessons, which is $4.88 a lesson. The $65 plan is twenty, which is $3.25. The larger plan is the cheaper one per lesson, which is worth knowing before picking the smallest tier to be safe.
How this differs from weekend Sunday school
Weekend school at the masjid does something an online class cannot: it puts your child in a room with other Muslim children. We would not tell you to give that up. What it often cannot do is give one child thirty minutes of a teacher's attention, four times a week.

- Four or five short lessons a week beats one long one for reading and memorisation.

- Male and female teachers, and you choose which.
- Taught in English, or in Urdu if that is easier for your child.

Plenty of our families do both — Sunday school for the community, weekday lessons for the reading. That is a reasonable way to use us.
Paying from the United States
The fee is charged monthly in dollars, for the month ahead. No registration fee, no contract, no minimum term, and no card is taken during the free trial classes.
If you stop, tell us and we stop. Before your regular classes begin you can withdraw for a full refund; after that we deduct the classes attended and return the rest.
Spring break, summer, and the weeks school is out
Classes carry on unless you tell us otherwise. Plenty of American families find spring break and the long summer are when there is finally room in the week for a fourth or fifth lesson.
If you are travelling, say so and we pause rather than charge you for lessons nobody will attend; any unused balance carries into the next month. Ramadan times move the same way, through your family WhatsApp group.
Who is in the room with your child
There is no background-check certificate to show you. What there is instead is a second adult on the call, every time, and a link you can open without asking us first.

Hifz from the United States, and what it asks of a family
Online hifz classes are the thing American families ask us about most and the thing we are slowest to agree to. Not because it is hard to teach -- because it is hard to keep, and most of the keeping happens at home rather than in the lesson.
Memorising a page takes one sitting. Keeping it takes a visit every few days for months, and then a visit every few weeks for years. That is the whole of it. An academy that enrols a child in a memorization course without saying this is selling the easy half.
- Before it starts
- The child reads fluently from the Mus'haf, with Tajweed corrected as they go. A child who is still decoding will memorise from the teacher's voice rather than the page, and will not be able to revise alone later.
- The new portion
- A few lines a day for a young child. The right amount is the largest the child can still recite correctly a week later, not the largest they manage on the day.
- Revision
- Every day, including the days with no lesson. This is most of the work and it is the part that decides whether a year of hifz holds or evaporates.
- The lesson's job
- To hear the child, correct them, and set the next portion. The memorising itself happens between lessons, at your kitchen table.
- A US timetable that works
- 6:30am Eastern is 3:30pm in Lahore -- early for your child, the middle of the teacher's afternoon, and before a school day has used the child up. Most of our American hifz students sit here or at the weekend.
We do not publish a completion date and we would be wary of any academy that does. After two months your teacher can tell you the pace your child actually holds, which is a more useful number than a promise made on day one.
It tends to work when
The child already reads well. There is a fixed daily slot at home, not only on lesson days. An adult can listen, even one who does not read Arabic. The family is thinking in years. And the child has been asked, rather than told.
It tends not to work when
Reading is still shaky. The only Quran time is the lesson itself. The child is already carrying five other after-school commitments. Or the plan is to start in Ramadan and see how it goes.
If your child is in the second column we will say so after the trial and suggest reading and Tajweed first. That is not us turning work away. A child who starts hifz a year too early usually stops within a year, and starting again is harder than starting late.

Are these live Quran classes or recorded lessons?
Live, always. Every class is a live lesson on video with your child's teacher. We never send recordings in place of live lessons.
What will my child learn in online Quran classes?
Beginners start with the Noorani Qaida. From there it is Quran recitation with Tajweed, and after that Hifz, translation or Tafseer, depending on what a family wants. Alongside the Quran your child learns Islamic Studies. Families on 5 days a week keep Friday as Islamic Day, which revises that week's Islamic Studies and adds one new lesson.
Are your online Quran teachers qualified?
Yes, and it is checked before anyone teaches a child. Every teacher holds a qualification from a recognized Islamic institution, and several hold professional degrees as well. Nobody is given a student on an application alone. There is an interview, a document check, training, and a live demo class we sit in on. The academy page sets out each stage.
Who is watching my child's Quran class?
The teacher leads every class, and you can watch too. Every lesson runs on one link that never changes, and you can join any class without telling us first.
How do I schedule my child's Quran class?
Send us your WhatsApp number on the form, or message us on WhatsApp. We ask for the times that suit you. We then place your child with a teacher who is free at that time. We reply on WhatsApp within 24 hours, and usually within hours.
Can we try the online Quran classes before enrolling?
Yes. Take up to 3 free trial classes first. Use them to check the teacher, the timing, and how your child responds before paying anything.
Can parents sit in on the Quran class?
Yes. You are welcome to watch any lesson, without asking first.
What am I committing to, and what if we want to stop?
There is no contract and no minimum term. Fees are monthly, and you pay for the month ahead. If you want to stop, tell us and we will stop. If you need a break instead, any unused balance carries to the next month. Before your regular classes begin, you can withdraw and get a full refund.
How do we stay in touch once classes start?
Through a WhatsApp group we open for your family after the trial classes. It has you and our academy team in it. Use it to move a class, ask for a different teacher, or raise anything at all. We try to settle it before the next class.
What do you do with my WhatsApp number?
Arranging your trial class is the only thing we use it for, and we never pass it on to anybody. Once classes start it is the number in your family WhatsApp group.
