Can my child learn to read the Quran with no Arabic?
Yes. Every beginner here is taught from the first Arabic letter, so nothing needs to be known before the first class. The first lessons are the individual letters and their pronunciation, read from our own Noorani Qaida with its English transliteration. Arabic has 28 letters, and a letter changes shape with its position in a word. That is why each letter is learned separately, before any of them are joined together into a word.
Your child recites to one teacher, who listens to every letter and corrects the pronunciation the moment a sound is wrong. Nobody else is in the class, and no lesson is a recording.
There is no separate course to choose for a beginner. This page is the whole path, from the first letter to recitation from the Quran. Your child begins on the Noorani Qaida, our first book. Book the free trial from this page and tell us your child is a complete beginner.
What are the ages, lesson length and fee for a beginner?

What is the path from the Arabic letters to Quran recitation?
Quran recitation is reached in 4 stages: the Noorani Qaida, recitation with Tajweed, the last surahs memorized, then Salah and the daily duas. They come in that order, and nobody skips a stage.
Noorani Qaida
Where every complete beginner starts. Every letter and its pronunciation come first, and the book ends with the first Tajweed rules. Your child moves on to the Quran itself only when the book is finished.
Quran recitation with Tajweed
Recitation from the Mus'haf, the printed Quran. The teacher corrects the pronunciation and every rule of Tajweed as your child recites. This is the Quran with Tajweed course.
The last surahs
The short surahs at the end of the Quran, memorized so your child can recite them correctly in Salah.
Salah and the daily duas
Wudu, the prayer, and the duas for each day, such as before sleeping and before eating, every one with its English translation.
The Qaida figure is the only number of months we give, and some children take longer than 10. That is completely normal. For the whole path, the pace is decided by your child and by how many days a week they attend. After these 4 stages a family chooses what comes next: memorization (Hifz), translation or Tafseer. What happens in online Quran classes for beginners?
Your child recites and the teacher listens. Everything below is built around that.
- The illustrated Qaida is open on the teacher's shared screen, and your child recites from it.
- 1 fixed Google Meet link, given to you once on WhatsApp with its meeting code. Every lesson runs on it.
- Nobody swaps your child's teacher for another without asking you first.
- Class times are given in your own time zone, and they can be changed afterwards.
- Islamic Studies is taught inside the same lesson, alongside the recitation.
- Lessons of 45 minutes or 1 hour are also available. Ask when you register.
What equipment do we need at home?
A phone, tablet or laptop with a camera, and an internet connection. That is everything, and there is nothing to buy.
- Nothing to install. Google Meet opens in an ordinary browser.
- Headphones help your child hear the teacher's pronunciation properly, but they are not required.
- Enough English, or Urdu, for your child to follow the teacher's explanation.
- About 10 minutes between lessons, to recite the previous page again.
With 2 children there are 2 separate classes, each with its own teacher, its own link and its own monthly fee. At the same hour that needs 2 devices. One after another, 1 device is enough.
Who teaches my child?
Qualified
Every teacher at the academy holds a qualification from a recognized Islamic institution. Some hold a professional degree as well.
If you want another teacher
Ask in your family WhatsApp group and a different teacher is arranged. Before their first lesson, they are told exactly where your child has reached and how the previous teacher taught them.
If your teacher is away
The class is moved, or another teacher takes the class for that day. Either way we tell you beforehand, with the day proposed.
How do I follow my child's progress, and what if we miss a class?
After every class, the teacher writes a short note in your family WhatsApp group. It says exactly what was covered and what to practise, with a link to the book and page in our library. The note is in plain English, so you need no Arabic to follow it. You can also sit in on any lesson yourself, whenever you wish.
The same group is where you move a class, or raise anything else, and we try to settle it before the following lesson. These are the rules for moving a class:
- Another day: tell us at least 1 hour before the class.
- Later the same day: at least 2 to 3 hours before.
- Up to 3 moves a month for weekday classes, and 2 for weekend classes.
- Public holidays and Eid are part of the monthly fee, with no replacement class.
- If your child does not join, the teacher stays on the link for about 5 minutes, then leaves.
How do I book a free trial class?
Put your WhatsApp number and your country on the registration form on this page. Those are the only 2 things it asks. We message you on WhatsApp, ask your child's age and whether they have had any previous lessons, and agree a day and time.
A first trial class can start within an hour or two of your reply. You get up to 3 free classes, with no credit card, no registration fee and nothing to cancel if you decide against it. Nobody uses your number for anything except arranging the trial.
After the trial, fees are monthly. You can stop at the end of any month by telling us.

How does a complete beginner start learning the Quran?

Does my child need to know any Arabic first?
No. The first lessons are the Arabic letters and their sounds.
Do I need to know Arabic to help my child?
No. The note is in plain English, with a link to the exact book and page.
What if my child forgets everything between lessons?
No child is moved on until the letters are secure. Set aside about 10 minutes between lessons to go over the previous page.
How soon will my child read from the Quran?
Most children finish the Noorani Qaida in 4 to 10 months, and some take longer.
What makes your online Quran academy different?
Your child keeps the same qualified teacher every week, at the same time. Every class is one-to-one. After each class the teacher writes a note: what was covered and what to practise.
Are these live Quran classes or recorded lessons?
Live, always. Every class is a live lesson on video with your child's teacher. We never send recordings in place of live lessons.
What will my child learn in online Quran classes?
Beginners start with the Noorani Qaida. From there it is Quran recitation with Tajweed, and after that Hifz, translation or Tafseer, depending on what a family wants. Alongside the Quran your child learns Islamic Studies. Families on 5 days a week keep Friday as Islamic Day, which revises that week's Islamic Studies and adds one new lesson.
Are your online Quran teachers qualified?
Yes, and it is checked before anyone teaches a child. Every teacher holds a qualification from a recognized Islamic institution, and several hold professional degrees as well. Nobody is given a student on an application alone. There is an interview, a document check, training, and a live demo class we sit in on. The academy page sets out each stage.
Who is watching my child's Quran class?
A supervisor. She joins the link about 2 minutes before the teacher and your child, checks that both are online, and listens in as the lesson runs. She is not there to teach: she is there to make sure the class is a good one. If the sound fails, or the teacher is not listening closely enough to your child, she steps in. Every class is supervised, and all our supervisors are female.
How do I schedule my child's Quran class?
Send us your WhatsApp number on the form, or message us on WhatsApp. We ask for your child's age and the times that suit you. A supervisor places your child with a teacher in a slot at that time, in your time zone. We reply on WhatsApp within 24 hours, and usually within hours.
Can we try the online Quran classes before enrolling?
Yes. Take up to 3 free trial classes first. Use them to check the teacher, the timing, and how your child responds before paying anything.
Can parents sit in on the Quran class?
Yes. You are welcome to watch any lesson, without asking first.
What am I committing to, and what if we want to stop?
There is no contract and no minimum term. Fees are monthly, and you pay for the month ahead. If you want to stop, tell us and we will stop. If you need a break instead, any unused balance carries to the next month. Before your regular classes begin, you can withdraw and get a full refund.
How do we stay in touch once classes start?
Through a WhatsApp group we open for your family after the trial classes. It has 4 people in it: you, your child's supervisor, the coordinator and the academy manager. Use it to move a class, ask for a different teacher, or raise anything at all. We try to settle it before the next class.
What do you do with my WhatsApp number?
Arranging your trial class is the only thing we use it for, and we never pass it on to anybody. Once classes start it is the number in your family WhatsApp group.
Is my child safe in an online Quran class?
You are welcome to watch any lesson yourself, without asking first, and a supervisor is listening in on every class. No teacher is given a student until we have checked their certificates and references. We then train them in how we teach, and sit in on a live demo class before they start.
How much do online Quran classes for kids cost?
Live Quran Lessons charges monthly, per child, by the days a week your child attends. 2 days a week is $39, 3 days $49, 4 days $59, and 5 days $65. Each lesson is 30 minutes, 1-to-1.
