Online Quran Classes in Houston
Live 1-to-1 lessons at home with a qualified male or female teacher, and no drive at either end of them. Start with up to 3 free trial classes.
Give your child the chance to learn the Quran at home, with one-to-one online Quran classes in Houston. Qualified male and female teachers take children step by step, from Noorani Qaida and Quran reading through to Tajweed and Hifz.
Houston is spread out, and for a lot of families the nearest class that suits their child is half an hour out and half an hour back, on the freeway, at the hour the freeway is worst. Start your free trial today and see what the same half hour looks like with none of the driving in it.

Six courses, and your child can take one or move through them in order. The teacher finds where they actually are in the first class and starts there, whether that is the very first letter or a Juz they are halfway through.
Select the option that best describes your child's current level.
Calm, one to one, and nothing hidden. This is what the half hour looks like, what reaches you afterwards, and how the first class is booked.
Your child learns one to one with the same teacher every week, on a Google Meet link that never changes. A supervisor from the academy is on every class, and all of our supervisors are women. You can join any class yourself, without telling us first.
Not a vague “doing fine” once a month. A note follows every class: which lesson your child is on, how it went, and the five minutes of practice that would help before the next one.
Send one message and we answer with the hours that are free. After the trial classes you have a family group with your child’ supervisor, the coordinator and the academy manager in it, and everything is settled there from then on.
Houston has more Islamic centers than almost any American city, and several of them teach very well. What Houston does not have is a short drive. Out on the Katy Freeway at five and back again after dark is most of a school evening, and in August the car is still hot at seven.

In Houston the four o'clock parent is usually in the car. Nothing below depends on you being at the table — and every line of it you can check yourself on a day you are.

Our United States page covers what is the same for every American family — the fees in dollars, how a week runs, the free trial. This page covers what is only true of Houston.

Book a Free Trial ClassThere is no drive. The lesson is half an hour at your own table, and you pick the slot — after homework, before dinner, or on a weekend morning. If the traffic is what stopped you before, several short lessons across the week will do more for the reading than one long Saturday.
There are, and some are very good — Sugar Land and Katy especially. What is different here is that nobody is on the freeway for it, and your child reads for the whole half hour instead of waiting a turn in a full room. Plenty of families do both.
No. The teacher explains in English throughout and treats the Arabic as reading, not as a language to speak: the shapes, the sounds those shapes make, then words. Parents who cannot read Arabic themselves follow along perfectly well from the note sent after each lesson.
Only if you ask them to. Reading fades over a long break, so lessons run through June and July and you simply move the slot earlier in the day. If you are traveling, pause them — the unused balance carries over to the next month rather than being lost.
Yes. We ask that a child reads reasonably fluently before starting Hifz, which usually means Noorani Qaida and some Tajweed behind them. Hifz lessons are 45 minutes or an hour, because the revision matters as much as the new lines.
You can join any lesson unannounced on the same Meet link, every lesson is 1-to-1, and nothing is recorded. Teachers' certificates and references are checked before they are given a student, and a supervisor joins each class. Our child safety page sets out the detail.
Your child keeps the same qualified teacher every week, at the same time. Every class is one-to-one. After each class the teacher writes a note: what was covered and what to practise.
Live, always. Every class is a live lesson on video with your child's teacher. We never send recordings in place of live lessons.
Beginners start with the Noorani Qaida. From there it is Quran recitation with Tajweed, and after that Hifz, translation or Tafseer, depending on what a family wants. Alongside the Quran your child learns Islamic Studies. Families on 5 days a week keep Friday as Islamic Day, which revises that week's Islamic Studies and adds one new lesson.
Yes, and it is checked before anyone teaches a child. Every teacher holds a qualification from a recognized Islamic institution, and several hold professional degrees as well. Nobody is given a student on an application alone. There is an interview, a document check, training, and a live demo class we sit in on. The academy page sets out each stage.
The teacher leads every class, and you can watch too. Every lesson runs on one link that never changes, and you can join any class without telling us first.
Send us your WhatsApp number on the form, or message us on WhatsApp. We ask for the times that suit you. We then place your child with a teacher who is free at that time. We reply on WhatsApp within 24 hours, and usually within hours.
Yes. Take up to 3 free trial classes first. Use them to check the teacher, the timing, and how your child responds before paying anything.
Yes. You are welcome to watch any lesson, without asking first.
There is no contract and no minimum term. Fees are monthly, and you pay for the month ahead. If you want to stop, tell us and we will stop. If you need a break instead, any unused balance carries to the next month. Before your regular classes begin, you can withdraw and get a full refund.
Through a WhatsApp group we open for your family after the trial classes. It has you and our academy team in it. Use it to move a class, ask for a different teacher, or raise anything at all. We try to settle it before the next class.
Arranging your trial class is the only thing we use it for, and we never pass it on to anybody. Once classes start it is the number in your family WhatsApp group.
You are welcome to watch any lesson yourself, without asking first, and a supervisor is listening in on every class. No teacher is given a student until we have checked their certificates and references. We then train them in how we teach, and sit in on a live demo class before they start.
