What your child will learn

Six courses, and your child can take one or move through them in order. The teacher finds where they actually are in the first class and starts there, whether that is the very first letter or a Juz they are halfway through.

A simple, structured learning experience

What your child gets in every class

Calm, one to one, and nothing hidden. This is what the half hour looks like, what reaches you afterwards, and how the first class is booked.

A teacher, your child, and a supervisor listening

Your child learns one to one with the same teacher every week, on a Google Meet link that never changes. A supervisor from the academy is on every class, and all of our supervisors are women. You can join any class yourself, without telling us first.

After every lesson, you know exactly what happened

Not a vague “doing fine” once a month. A note follows every class: which lesson your child is on, how it went, and the five minutes of practice that would help before the next one.

An honest comparison

Online classes, or one more thing to drive to?

North Texas is well served: strong weekend schools in Richardson and Plano, full-time academies, several large centers. The difficulty is rarely finding a class. It is finding one evening a week when three children, two jobs and the drive from Frisco to Richardson all agree.

Safety, in plain terms

Three children, and nobody in three rooms

With two or three children on at different hours, no parent sits in on all of them. Nothing below depends on you being at the table — and every line of it you can check yourself, on any child's lesson, on a day you are.

  • Checked before they teachCertificates and references are seen and verified before a teacher is given a single student.
  • Your child, and one teacherNobody else is in the lesson. There is no group, and no other child on the call — not even a sibling.
  • One Google Meet linkThe same link every week, one per child, sent to you. It is not posted anywhere and nobody else is given it.
  • Nothing is recordedNo lesson is saved. Nothing of your child's goes anywhere once the call ends.
  • A supervisor is on every classShe joins about 2 minutes before the teacher and your child. You can join too, unannounced, on the same link.
  • You hear after every lessonA short note per child on what was read and what to practice, so no part of the lesson is out of sight.
Your choice

Your teacher, and your part of DFW

Male or female teacher

  • You choose when you book, and most Dallas parents of girls choose a female teacher.
  • Tell us and your child is placed with a suitable male or female teacher.
  • The same teacher every week, not a rota — and a different one per child if that suits them better.

Families across Dallas and Fort Worth

  • Children join us from Plano, Richardson, Allen, Frisco and McKinney up north; from Irving, Carrollton and Lewisville in the middle; and from Garland, Mesquite and Rowlett to the east.
  • And from Arlington, Euless and Fort Worth, where crossing the Metroplex on a school night is the reason nothing else fitted.

We have three children. Do they have to be taught at the same time?

No, and usually they should not be. Each child gets their own slot, their own teacher and their own thirty minutes, so one child on Qaida and another on Hifz are never sharing a pace. You can stack the three slots back to back on one evening if that suits the house, or spread them over the week.

Is there a discount for more than one child?

Yes. A second child's monthly fee is 10% lower. With more than three children enrolled, every child after the first pays 12% less each month and the first child stays on the standard fee. There is no registration fee for any of them.

Our children already go to a weekend school in Richardson. Is this instead?

No. The weekend school gives them other children, a routine and Islamic studies alongside the reading. What it cannot give is thirty minutes of reading aloud to one adult, three times a week. Many families keep both.

My child was born here and does not speak Arabic. Is that a problem?

No. The lesson is in English and the Arabic is taught as reading rather than as speech. If you have several children at different stages, each one is started where they actually are, so an older child is never put back to the beginning to keep a younger one company.

Can my child do Hifz online, and how much Tajweed is needed first?

Yes. We ask that a child reads reasonably fluently before starting Hifz, which usually means Noorani Qaida and some Tajweed behind them. Hifz lessons are 45 minutes or an hour, because the revision matters as much as the new lines.

More questions(13)
Is it safe for my child to learn the Quran online?

You can join any lesson unannounced on the same Meet link, every lesson is 1-to-1, and nothing is recorded. Teachers' certificates and references are checked before they are given a student, and a supervisor joins each class. Our child safety page sets out the detail.

What makes your online Quran academy different?

Your child keeps the same qualified teacher every week, at the same time. Every class is one-to-one. After each class the teacher writes a note: what was covered and what to practise.

Are these live Quran classes or recorded lessons?

Live, always. Every class is a live lesson on video with your child's teacher. We never send recordings in place of live lessons.

What will my child learn in online Quran classes?

Beginners start with the Noorani Qaida. From there it is Quran recitation with Tajweed, and after that Hifz, translation or Tafseer, depending on what a family wants. Alongside the Quran your child learns Islamic Studies. Families on 5 days a week keep Friday as Islamic Day, which revises that week's Islamic Studies and adds one new lesson.

Are your online Quran teachers qualified?

Yes, and it is checked before anyone teaches a child. Every teacher holds a qualification from a recognized Islamic institution, and several hold professional degrees as well. Nobody is given a student on an application alone. There is an interview, a document check, training, and a live demo class we sit in on. The academy page sets out each stage.

Who is watching my child's Quran class?

The teacher leads every class, and you can watch too. Every lesson runs on one link that never changes, and you can join any class without telling us first.

How do I schedule my child's Quran class?

Send us your WhatsApp number on the form, or message us on WhatsApp. We ask for the times that suit you. We then place your child with a teacher who is free at that time. We reply on WhatsApp within 24 hours, and usually within hours.

Can we try the online Quran classes before enrolling?

Yes. Take up to 3 free trial classes first. Use them to check the teacher, the timing, and how your child responds before paying anything.

Can parents sit in on the Quran class?

Yes. You are welcome to watch any lesson, without asking first.

What am I committing to, and what if we want to stop?

There is no contract and no minimum term. Fees are monthly, and you pay for the month ahead. If you want to stop, tell us and we will stop. If you need a break instead, any unused balance carries to the next month. Before your regular classes begin, you can withdraw and get a full refund.

How do we stay in touch once classes start?

Through a WhatsApp group we open for your family after the trial classes. It has you and our academy team in it. Use it to move a class, ask for a different teacher, or raise anything at all. We try to settle it before the next class.

What do you do with my WhatsApp number?

Arranging your trial class is the only thing we use it for, and we never pass it on to anybody. Once classes start it is the number in your family WhatsApp group.

Is my child safe in an online Quran class?

You are welcome to watch any lesson yourself, without asking first, and a supervisor is listening in on every class. No teacher is given a student until we have checked their certificates and references. We then train them in how we teach, and sit in on a live demo class before they start.
