The short answer
Siblings usually learn Quran faster in separate one-to-one lessons than in a shared class, even a few years apart, because each child reads at a different level and the stronger one tends to answer for the other. Back-to-back slots keep the family routine simple.
Why shared classes slow both children down
Putting two siblings in one lesson looks efficient. In practice the older or more confident child reads, answers and corrects, and the younger one listens. The teacher splits thirty minutes between two levels, and each child gets far less than thirty minutes of real reading.
Siblings also compare. The slower child gets discouraged, and the faster one gets bored waiting.
How we handle siblings
Every class at our academy is one to one. Siblings are separate students with their own lesson and their own teacher or time slot, each on their own Google Meet link. A supervisor is present in every lesson.

Making the schedule work
- Back-to-back slots on the same evening, so the whole family finishes Quran at once.
- Two devices if the lessons run at the same time. One device if they run one after the other.
- Separate quiet spots, so siblings are not listening to each other's mistakes.
- The youngest child first, while their attention is freshest.
When siblings can help each other
Outside the lesson, an older sibling listening to a younger one practise can help a great deal — as long as the older child listens and encourages rather than corrects. Leave corrections to the teacher.
