Compare cost per lesson, not per month. A cheaper monthly fee with two classes a week is often dearer per lesson than a bigger plan. Our own fees run from $39 a month for eight 30-minute lessons to $65 for twenty, with Hifz priced separately, and every figure is published before you give anyone a phone number.
Do the division before you compare
Academies quote a month, because a month sounds small. The number that tells you anything is the lesson. Take the monthly fee, divide it by the lessons in the month, and compare that.
- 2 days a week
- 8 lessons of 30 minutes — $39 a month, about $4.88 a lesson
- 5 days a week
- 20 lessons of 30 minutes — $65 a month, about $3.25 a lesson
- Hifz, 1 hour
- 20 lessons of 60 minutes — $118 a month
Our published US fees. The same plans are on the site in pounds, dollars, Canadian and Australian dollars, euros and dirhams.
What a very low price usually means
- A group class described as one to one, where your child waits their turn.
- A teacher paid so little that they leave, and your child starts again with a new one every few months.
- A price that rises after the first month, or a registration fee that appears at signup.
- No refund policy, so a month paid is a month gone whatever happens.
A low fee is not automatically any of these. But if the fee is far below everyone else, ask which of them it is, because it is usually one of them.
What to check besides the number
- Is there a registration fee? There is none here.
- Is there a minimum term or contract? None here.
- Is a card taken during the free trial classes? Not here.
- If you pause for a month, does the unused balance carry over or vanish? It carries over here.
