Noorani Qaida
The Arabic letters, their sounds and how they join. Where a child who has never read Arabic begins.
Online Quran Classes in Auckland
Live 1-to-1 lessons at home with a male or female teacher, wherever in Auckland you live. Start with free trial classes.
Live Quran Lessons teaches Auckland children online, 1-to-1: Noorani Qaida, reading with Tajweed, Hifz, Quran translation and Islamic Studies. Lessons run at New Zealand after-school times with a male or female teacher, and the first classes are free with no card needed.

New Zealand's Muslim community is small, and most of it is in Auckland. Even here, the handful of places that teach children to read the Quran sit close together, between Mount Roskill and Manukau. If you are on the North Shore, out in Massey or Henderson, or east in Botany, the nearest one is a bridge or a motorway away.
And if the one near you is full, or the time does not work, there is usually no other to try. That is the part families here describe that families in bigger countries do not.
Six courses, and your child can take one or move through them in order. The teacher finds where they actually are in the first class and starts there, whether that is the very first letter or a Juz they are halfway through.
Select the option that best describes your child's current level.
Calm, one to one, and nothing hidden. This is what the half hour looks like, what reaches you afterwards, and how the first class is booked.
Your child learns one to one with the same teacher every week, on a Google Meet link that never changes. A supervisor from the academy is on every class, and all of our supervisors are women. You can join any class yourself, without telling us first.
Not a vague “doing fine” once a month. A note follows every class: which lesson your child is on, how it went, and the five minutes of practice that would help before the next one.
Send one message and we answer with the hours that are free. After the trial classes you have a family group with your child’ supervisor, the coordinator and the academy manager in it, and everything is settled there from then on.
Auckland has good weekend classes, and the people who run them are mostly volunteers doing it for the community. What follows is not a complaint about them. It is what one-to-one gives a child that a Saturday morning room cannot.

No registration fee, no minimum term, and nothing is taken during the free trial classes. A second child is 10% lower than the first, and that is what the family columns show.
There is no New Zealand page yet. The Sydney and Melbourne pages sit in roughly the same part of the day, and the main classes page covers everything that does not change with the country.
One-to-one, live, the same teacher each week — wherever you are.
Times that fit a Sydney school day rather than a Lahore one.
For the north and the west, without the drive across the city.

Yes. The New Zealand school year ends in mid-December and the break runs into February, which is the longest gap in your child's year and where most of the forgetting happens. Lessons carry on right through it, and families often add a day a week while there is no homework.
That depends which part of Auckland. Mount Roskill, Avondale and the Manukau side are reasonably served; the North Shore, the west and the far east much less so. Learning at home removes the question, which is why most of our Auckland families are from those outer parts.
Most children finish the Noorani Qaida in 4 to 8 months at 3 or 4 lessons a week. Because there is no drive at either end, Auckland families often manage 4 or 5 a week, which brings that down.
Yes. One to one, the teacher hears your child alone and stops at the letter rather than at the end of the page. Your child reads from the Mushaf you already have at home.
Nothing changes. The lesson is the same link and the same teacher in Hamilton, Tauranga, Wellington or Christchurch, which for a family leaving Auckland is often the difference between carrying on and stopping.
Your child keeps the same qualified teacher every week, at the same time. Every class is one-to-one. After each class the teacher writes a note: what was covered and what to practise.
Live, always. Every class is a live lesson on video with your child's teacher. We never send recordings in place of live lessons.
Beginners start with the Noorani Qaida. From there it is Quran recitation with Tajweed, and after that Hifz, translation or Tafseer, depending on what a family wants. Alongside the Quran your child learns Islamic Studies. Families on 5 days a week keep Friday as Islamic Day, which revises that week's Islamic Studies and adds one new lesson.
Yes, and it is checked before anyone teaches a child. Every teacher holds a qualification from a recognized Islamic institution, and several hold professional degrees as well. Nobody is given a student on an application alone. There is an interview, a document check, training, and a live demo class we sit in on. The academy page sets out each stage.
The teacher leads every class, and you can watch too. Every lesson runs on one link that never changes, and you can join any class without telling us first.
Send us your WhatsApp number on the form, or message us on WhatsApp. We ask for the times that suit you. We then place your child with a teacher who is free at that time. We reply on WhatsApp within 24 hours, and usually within hours.
Yes. Take up to 3 free trial classes first. Use them to check the teacher, the timing, and how your child responds before paying anything.
Yes. You are welcome to watch any lesson, without asking first.
There is no contract and no minimum term. Fees are monthly, and you pay for the month ahead. If you want to stop, tell us and we will stop. If you need a break instead, any unused balance carries to the next month. Before your regular classes begin, you can withdraw and get a full refund.
Through a WhatsApp group we open for your family after the trial classes. It has you and our academy team in it. Use it to move a class, ask for a different teacher, or raise anything at all. We try to settle it before the next class.
Arranging your trial class is the only thing we use it for, and we never pass it on to anybody. Once classes start it is the number in your family WhatsApp group.
You are welcome to watch any lesson yourself, without asking first, and a supervisor is listening in on every class. No teacher is given a student until we have checked their certificates and references. We then train them in how we teach, and sit in on a live demo class before they start.
